Pre and Post Sales Engineer

Primary Role Responsibilities
This is a key sales/operations support role with the primary responsibilities of pre and post sales support for the national sales team.
Functional Role /Responsibilities
Partners with Genea’s sales teams and/or agents to maximize profit from targeted key accounts by influencing adoption of Genea’s technology platform. Responsible for assessment, identification and qualification of key targets/properties through the use of highly-organized and effective business planning, energy control systems knowledge, market research and the use of general sales support skills and process planning efforts. Utilizes sales tools to plan and document progress as well as increase and/or cross sell business opportunities within accounts. Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
Builds relationships with the assigned accounts to drive the penetration of Genea’s solutions
Maintains frequent face-to-face contact with the customers who most directly influence penetration/adoption. Actively listens, probes and identifies concerns. Addresses concerns and performance lapses. Understands the customer's business and speaks their language. Develops credibility, loyalty, trust and commitment.
Performs “take-offs” and portfolio assessments for the full spectrum of projects Genea is positioned to deliver
Demonstrates technical knowledge by writing specifications that drive value to the customer and favorably position Genea.
Under direction, qualifies and assesses potential customers. Teams with colleagues on individual projects based on account assignments. Honors guidelines and refers leads to other business segments.
Solicits support from and communicates effectively with internal staff to ensure customer satisfaction. Develops relationships with Solution and Service sales organization to exceed customers' expectations.
Participates in professional organizations.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a pre sales engineer role
- Must be PC Literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Project management and task oriented
- Organized thinker and planner with strong financial, operational, and technical acumen combined with a sense of urgency
- Team player with high energy focused on measurable results
- Assist and support the development and maintenance of key customer relationships
- Ability to create formal proposals and submit to prospects
- Ability to create presentation materials from a standard template
- Must be comfortable in a high-growth, rapid paced start-up environment
Preferences:
- Prior relationships and intimate knowledge of the REIT industry
- BA degree marketing/business/finance/communications
- Energy Controls and/or Information Systems and software experience
- Operating Knowledge of Office Buildings
- Ability to make compelling financial benefit/ROI arguments
